Wilson River Trail Hike

I did an exploritory hike of a new section of the Wilson River Trail. I started once again at the Jones Creek Day Use Area parking lot and head south. I had to turn around when the condition of the trail got to bad.

By the numbers – 12 1/4 miles, 1600 ft. elev. gain, on trail 6 1/2 hours

Wilson River Trail Hike

I hiked a section of the Wilson River Trail from Jones Creek Day Use to Coronary Ridge Trail. This section of the trail is just a walk in the woods with a few view spots and lots of ant mounds. I added on a little extra to check out the bridge at the forest museum. The hike was 15 miles with 2650 Elevation Gain and I was on the trail for 8 hrs.

Columbia River Maritime Museum Outing

Lori and I did a road trip to Astoria to see the Columbia River Maritime Museum. We started with a ride across the Columbia River on the Oscar ferry to Westport. The ferry lets you off close to The Berry Patch Restaurant so we stopped for a piece of pie. Then it was on to the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria. It had been a long time since either of us had been there so it was all new to us. We only had two hours to take in as much as we could and then we were headed back home. We stopped off on the way back to pick up some pizza the we had at Lori’s. The are adding a new exhibit building to the Museum and I need to go back and see that and all that I missed on this visit.
