Loop hike to scout Timberline Trail

I did a scouting hike for RTM on Sunday. I parked at Elk Meadow Trailhead on Mt. Hood and followed the Umbrella Falls trail up to where it meets Timberline Trail in Mt Hood Meadows. I then hiked Timberline Trail past Gnarl Ridge to the first permanent snowfield. I returned by way of Elk Meadow Trail. Nine and a quarter hours on the trail.
