Wahkeena Falls to Devils Rest Hike
This was to be the last sunny day for a while so I wanted to get out for a hike while it was nice. So I went for Wahkeena up to Devils Rest and some checking out some of the new trails. I had seen post about Wahkeena having a major landslide and that the trail was open again so I want to see what had gone on. I found the slide was major but they had done an outstanding job of getting the trail open again. The hike offered a lot of scenic beauty and some challenges you often fine. All made for a good day out.

King Mt. Hike
King Mt. in the Tillamook State Forest is not very scenic but because of it’s steepness is often used for conditioning hike. There is a lot of up with just a few flat spot thrown in. I took a little use side trail down for part of the decent and only found out toward the end that I was on the Coronary Ridge trail. By the number – 7 miles, 3000 ft. total elevation gain and on the trail for 5 hours.
