A short hike of Hardy Ridge Loop to get out and stretch my legs. The forecast had it for westerly wind that was going to blow the wildfire smoke out of the Gorge but it did not happen so not a good day to take photos. The hike was 8 mile with 1900 ft. elevation gain with four hours on the trail.
Once again doing the Hardy Ridge Loop Hike at Beacon Rock State Park. This time packing more camera gear to tryout. Hike was 10 mile, 2350 ft. elevation gain in about 7 hours. I want to what the state of the flowers were and worked between three different cameras to see how they did.
I hiked up to Hardy Ridge in the Beacon Rock State Park to see how the flowers were doing. This time I went all the way to Phlox Point on the ridge trail. There were a lot of flowers blooming. The hike was 9.8 miles long with 2300 elevation gain and took me 6 3/4 hours on trail. There was a lot of stopping to photograph the flowers.
I did the Hardy Ridge Trail to see how the flowers were and get some exercise. I am glad I went for the flowers as the ridge was clouded over so no view today. I am finding it interesting how the flower go through their cycle so much slower then in sub-alpine meadows on Mt. Hood. The hike was about 9.5 miles with 2300 ft. elevation gain and on the trail for 4 1/2 hours.
Out for another hike doing that Hardy Ridge Loop at Beacon Rock State Park. Part of this was to see how far along the new growth and flowers were. The best of the flowers is still a month away. This was an 8.5 mile hike with 2275 ft. elevation gain with about 4.5 hours on the trail.
