Treks and Adventures
A short scenic hike with Lori and Jeanette along Falls Creek to Falls Creek Falls. It was 4 miles and about 770 ft. Elevation Grain. Afterwards we went to Thunder Island Brewing for lunch. We came ready for rain but it stayed dry.
An Exploratory hike of trail over and around Green Mt. north of Camas, WA. The trail passes through three different public properties of Camas, Clark County and Camas school Dist. I also finished up walking through new subdivisions to get back to my car. The numbers: 6.75 miles, 785 ft. elev. gain in 3 1/2 hours.
We missed a turn and ended up wandering to places in the Columbia River Gorge. Its good to be flexible and to have a good knowledge of the Gorge. So first visit was to the new tunnel at Michel Point. Then we crossed the river at Hood River. Then stopped in at Spring Creek Fish hatcher to see the little fishies. Then off to see the Camas in bloom at a lesser known spot. Then on to Whistle Punk trail. We finished up at Backwoods Brewers for lunch.
This was a Sunday morning exploratory of Fanno Creek Trail and wetland.
A conditioning hike to overlooking Indian Point in the Columbia River Gorge. The trail sequence was Herman Creek, Nick Eaton Way, Ridge Cutoff Trail and Gordon Creek Trail. This takes one through burn forest, old growth, scenic viewpoints and on Nick Eaton Way some very steep trails. The early season wildflowers were in bloom. By the numbers: 8,4 miles, 2790 ft elevation gain in 5 1/2 hours on trail.
