I got out for an exploratory walk of the Jackson Bottom Wetland Preserve in Hillsboro. I started out in a cool morning but by ten it was already approaching 90 degrees in the sun. This area can be flooded in the winter but opens up for walking in the summer. I cover 5.5 miles of trails.
Clapsot Loop Hike
Lori, Jeanette, Sylvia and I were off for another hike on the Oregon Coast. This time we did the Clapsot Loop Trail at Ecola State Park. But before that we did a little scouting of Chapman Beach and it’s access to Bird Rocks. Sylva and Mark hosted us again at their summer beach house at Seaside for beer and snacks. The hike was about 5 miles long and 750 ft. elevation gain.
