I started the summer hiking season with the Paradise Park Trail and I wanted to see if my conditioning had improved by finishing the season with the same trail. I went further and higher this time and finished strong but diffidently tired. Some Fall color was out and all of the plants were dying back getting ready for the first snow of the season. There was still a hazy in the air that kept from getting clear view of the surroundings but Mt. Hood stood out very clear. I did 16.5 miles with a little over 3500 ft. elev. gain. I was on the trail for about 10 hours (spent an hour and half of that stopping to take pictures) and got to around 6200 ft. on the mountain.

Mt. Hood Meadows Hike
Palmateer Point Hike
This was hike with Lori and Merlyn to Palmateer Point and a great view of Mt. Hood. We had a blue bird day with mild temperature and no smoke. We had some fall color and more mushrooms.
This was a lollipop hike at 7.5 miles and 1100 elevation gain. We left out of the Barlow Snowpark on the PCT. We switch off on the the Palmateer Point trail to then use a connector trail to get to the Twin Lake Trail. The Twin Lake trail would take us back to the PCT and back to the car. After the hike we went to Smokey Hearth for for lunch.
Indian Heaven from Placid Lake Hike
A hike in Indian Heaven Wilderness with Lori and Merlyn on Placid Lake Trail 29 & Chenamus Lake Trail 29A. We did an easy hike of 4.3 miles and a little under 400 ft. elevation gain. Our pace was slow so we could enjoy socializing and the beauty of Indian Heaven and the discovery of so many mushrooms. After the hike we went to Backwood Brewery for lunch.
